BIO

Chicago, IL - June 20, 2018 - Boss Billion Brand, a subsidiary of KCbizBOSS Entre-Tainment, LLC of Chicago, announced today that their client Yolanda Carter will be releasing her highly anticipated memoir, “One Eye Witness", on July 1, 2018. The book’s release follows a domestic violence awareness segment that featured Carter’s story on WGN-TV Channel 9 Chicago and a recent speaking engagement at the Purple Hose and Heels 5K event, also in Chicago.
Yolanda Carter, author of One Eye Witness, was the recipient of the “Amazing Overcomer" award during the 2017 BIBO Awards, hosted by the BIBO Foundation in September. The honor was bestowed upon her by founder Traci S. Campbell, who has reportedly written the foreword of the memoir.
Carter, who is a domestic violence survivor, began writing her book in early 2018 with the help of curator Kandi “KC Bizboss" Conda. The book reportedly tells the story of Carter's abuse, which came to a tragic twist on the morning of March 22, 2016, when her partner assaulted her with a hammer. As a result, Yolanda needed to have her left eye removed, a steel plate placed in her skull and now awaits a facial reconstruction surgery to repair the damage from her attack.
Other sections of her book are said to be educational material intended to help victims identify whether they are in a domestic violence relationship and resources to help them leave their abusers.
When asked about her book, Carter simply stated, “I want to help prevent heinous crimes like this from happening to other women. No one deserves to go through these types of things, and I hope my book can help them get out before its it's too late.”
